 QMS™ Overview

QMS™ for Windows has modules for:

and key features like:

QMS™ is a complete solution!
QMS™ is a comprehensive, customizable, easy-to-use software program that enables health care professionals to automate the quality, credentialing, claims/policy, patient safety, peer review, and risk management components of their jobs. QMS™ provides a method of tracking, trending, analyzing, and presenting data that results in valuable information that can be incorporated into decision making processes such as performance improvement, TQM, CQI, etc. QMS™ is an affordable alternative for tracking and trending events to meet the requirements of external regulators and internal needs. It has met the requirements for participation in The Joint Commission's ORYX® Initiative, and is much easier to use than other performance measurement system. QMS™ allows facilities to compare performance measures within and across organizations to trend, determine historical differences, and form comparisons between past and present. And for no additional cost, users can take advantage of the aggregate data program available through QMS™ which lets performance measures be compared across all participating organizations.

QMS™ provides more than 150 standard reports applicable to the hospital, long term care, home health care, physician office, corporate office, and many other settings. The powerful report writer and the presentation module allow for tailored reporting and graphing.

QMS™ contains multiple modules, including Quality/Risk Assessment, Credentialing, and Claims/Policy Management. While use of all the modules provides an integrated system, each module is designed to operate independently.

Quality/Risk Assessment is designed to record, track, and report potential clinical dysquality by way of departments/services and groups/indicators. The user can customize QMS™ to meet the specific needs of the facility by providing information that demonstrates the quality of health care provided at the facility or by its practitioners.

Credentialing records, tracks, and reports demographics, privilege delineation, continuing education activity, and committee meeting attendance information for various practitioners such as physicians, nurses, anesthesiologists, employees, and others. It also contains mail-merge capabilities, and maintains information related to National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) inquiries.

Claims / Policy Management assists the Risk Manager in managing a wide variety of claims data including general and professional liability, property, and workers' compensation. Information tracked in this module includes claim and claimant specific data, diary and payment entries, persons involved in each claim, and alleged event data giving rise to a specific claim.

ORYX® - Core Measures refers to QMSCore, the newest module to join the QMS performance improvement family.  It provides an easy, affordable solution for those accredited facilities who are required to participate in TJC's ORYX® Initiative for Core Measure Set tracking. This module affords a simple, user-friendly tool for collection, transfer and submission of data.

Additional modules include:

System Management, which handles password security, maintains standardized and customized profiles, and manages the software's file maintenance functions. It also interfaces with mainframe systems to import existing patient demographic and practitioner activity data.

Data Transfer, which provides a way to transfer corporate, aggregate, and/or ORYX® transaction data for comparative reporting.

Presentations provides the user with an opportunity to graphically display data trends by using a pie chart, line or bar graphs, and many other graphical formats. Custom reports are also available via the report writer.

Key features of QMS™ :

HL7 (ADT) interface - for an additional cost, the QMS™ software can be configured to receive data automatically from an HL7 data feed.  For users that do not have HL7 capabilities, information can be downloaded into QMS™ using comma delimited (.csv) files.

Browser-based data entry - QMS™ users can take advantage of the browser-based data entry screens available in QMS™.  These data entry screens can be run from within any browser that supports java script.  This feature of QMS™ allows any user within (or outside) a facility to view or enter data using only an internet connection provided they have the correct security clearance.

User defined lookups and fields - QMS™ users can customize the lookup lists and questions (fields) to meet the needs of their facility.

Unlimited user licenses - QMS™ is licensed to the facility NOT individual users.  This means there are no additional costs every time a user needs access to QMS™.

Multiple facility tracking - QMS™ can be used to track data for one or multiple facilities.  Reports can be run for individual facilities or multiple facilities to allow for comparing performance.

Aggregate data reports - for no additional cost, users can take advantage of the aggregate data program available through QMS™ which lets performance measures be compared across all participating organizations.  Periodically additional special studies are included in the aggregate data reports that focus on specific issues.  Participants collect additional information for the special study and are provided with additional aggregate reports.

No additional resources needed - QMS™ can usually be implemented using the clients existing hardware and personnel.  This is an important feature of QMS™ because there are no "hidden" costs associated with installing QMS™.  Dedicating a network server or technical staff to implement or maintain QMS™ is not necessary.

Competitive fees - QMS™ offers an integrated system for a very reasonable fee.  Please contact us so that we can provide you with a quote that is customized to meet the data tracking needs of your facility.
